MAR DS-4500 IMAGE DEVELOPER

MAR DS-4500 IMAGE DEVELOPER is a concentrated, highly stabilized liquid developer solution for developing both fully aqueous and semi-aqueous photopolymer resists and liquid photo imagable solder masks (LPI). MAR DS-4500 IMAGE DEVELOPER has a built in cleaner that minimizes scale build up in the horizontal developer thus reducing machine downtime for cleaning. It's self cleaning component keeps spray equuipment running better, longer, and when used with our Steady State Control System (SSCS), can inrease bath life by 10% to 15% over conventional systems.

MAR DS-4500 IMAGE DEVELOPER also contains a pH booster used to regenerate unusable bicarbonate ions. This extends the developer bath life and reduces usage of developer concentrate. Use of MAR DS-4500 IMAGE DEVELOPER can generatye a chemistry savings of up to 35% over developers without pH boosters.

FEATURES and BENEFITS:
  • Highly stabilized for longer bath life.
  • Self-cleaning mechanism keeps equipment running longer.
  • Necessary for fine-line circuitry.
  • Can be used in flood or spray applications.
  • Can be used on both photo-resists and solder masks.
  • Excellent consistency when used with Steady State Control System.
  • Liquid concentrate for easy make-up.

OPERATING CONDITIONS
RANGE OPTIMUM
Concentration: .8 - 1.2% BV 1% BV
Operating Temperature: 27°C to 32°C 30°C
pH: ≤11.5-12.5 >12
Dwell Time: 50 - 60% break point
MAKE-UP PROCEDURE
  1. Fill cleaned tank to approximately ¾ of operating level.
  2. Add optimum amount of MAR DS-4500 IMAGE DEVELOPER.
  3. Adjust to final operating volume with water.
  4. Heat to 60°C
EQUIPMENT
Tanks: CPVC, polypropylene, Polypropylene or 316 SS
Heaters: Stainless Steel, Teflon, Titanium
Spray Machines: Modern spray processing units made of stainles steel or previously listed plastics are suitable
Nozzles: Both cone and fan type spray nozzles are recommended to achieve maximum stripping efficiency.
Pump: Plumbing and spray nozzles should be balanced to achieve manifold pressure of at least 25psi.
CONTROL AND REPLENISHMENT:

For maximum results, spray equipment should be equipped with a pre-soak chamber equipped with cone nozzles and a minimum of two spray chambers with fan nozzles. Equipment should also have an automatic dosing system keeping the pH of solution constant. It is our recommendation that a bleed and feed system be used to maximize efficiency and control.

MAR DS-4500 IMAGE DEVELOPER is best controlled with out Steady State Control System by monitoring the pH which should be maintained between 11.5 and 12.0. The Steady State Control System will allow the solution to be maintained within 0.01 pH units. When the pH drops to a lower set limit, the controller will begin to feed in the MAR DS-4500 IMAGE DEVELOPER at a ratio of 150 ml per gallon of water - (Rinse water can be used).

The Total Carbonate should be maintained at 0.9% to 1.1% by weight and Active Carbonate 0.6% to 0.7% by weight respectively.

Active Carbonate:

  • The Active Carbonate is a measure of the developing potential of the solution.
  • As the Active Carbonate concentration drops, the pH goes down and the development rate slows down.

Total Carbonate:

  • Measures both the Carbonate and the Bicarbonate concentrations.
  • It is important to keep this in the correct range since total carbonate concentration will have an impact on overall development quality.
